The Road Funds Regional body known as the ARMFA Southern Africa Focal Group (ASAFG), assembled in a virtual meeting this week, where the Road Fund chief executive officer Nkekeletse Makara was elected into the executive committee as vice chairperson.
In a statement issued this week, the Road Fund said this is a great achievement for the Road Fund in Lesotho, to be part of the executive committee of the regional body for the coming two years.
In a vote of thanks, Makara thanked the ASAFG members for entrusting him with the mammoth task, further expressing his commitment to perform to the best of his ability for the growth and betterment of ASAFG.
“I believe a lot can still be achieved through our consolidated efforts as the region to ensure value or money in undertaking our mandate to finance maintenance of roads within our various countries and within the region,” he said.
The new executive committee will serve for a period of two years. The virtual ASAFG meeting was attended by Angola, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia and Zambia as host and outgoing secretariat of the Focal Group.
