Snow expected tonight

The first snow for 2021 is expected to fall on the Lesotho Drakensberg peaks from tonight.

Snow ReportSA this morning stated that a dusting of early season snow is possible on the high-peaks in the eastern parts of Lesotho from tonight through Thursday.

The report continued to say that although a total of between 10 centimetres and 20 centimetres of snow is currently indicated by the data for the peaks, the freezing level is very high, so even a slight change could result in the snow falling as rain instead.

“Any snow that does not fall may be melted by rain very quickly, so it may not be visible anymore by the time the weather clears,” the report read
