The deputy minister of health Nto Moakhi last week officiated the opening of a port of health facility at Sani Top border post in Mokhotlong.
The Sani Top port of health is one of the few that have already been opened at various border posts in the country.
Moakhi said the facility is intended to provide health services that include screening and testing of people who enter and leave Lesotho. He said this comes after Covd-19 cases soared in December at Sani Top because of the large number of untested people that entered using that border.
He went on to reveal plans to open a similar port of health at Monontṧa.
On behalf of the principal chief of Mokhotlong, Mathealira Rakhatleli lauded the regulation of movement through the border, and called for more carefully thought out planning for future developments.
He urged nurses who will be deployed at the port of health to exercise kindness at all times as they will be dealing with all sorts of people.
