A 46-year old woman of Ha Teko in Maseru, Thakane Lerotholi, appeared before the Maseru magistrate court on February 10 in connection with the murder of her business partner.

According to police, the suspect is still in police custody while waiting to appear in court again on February 22.

Senior Superintendent Mpiti Mopeli indicated that on June 5 2020 after 10:00pm, the victim Tṧeliso Manyeli had just arrived home at St Michael’s, and while he was waiting for the garage door to open, three men appeared at shot at him multiple times before fleeing from the scene.

He says the victim was rushed to a hospital at Ha Thetsane where he died from the gunshot wounds.

According to Mopeli, the suspect and the deceased were business partners whose working relationship went south when the suspect complained that Manyeli treated her like an employee and she no longer received the benefits of an owner.

“That’s when she hired the hitmen to kill him. Police investigations are still continuing but, so far, a 29-year old man Marothi Tsolo appeared before Maseru magistrate court on February 12 as an accused in the murder. Police are now looking for the other two suspects who are still on the run,” Mopeli said.
