The National Assembly informs the members of parliament that from Tuesday this week, there will be no conventional sittings of the House; all sittings willl be virtual hybrid representative sittings.
To this effect, the Speaker of the House, Sephiri Motanyane has invoked Standing Order No. 110, to enforce the change in sitting arrangements.
Motanyane said that the hybrid representative sittings will be attended by only 30 members who will be designated daily or weekly by party whips having due regard to the proportionality and diversity of political parties represented in Parliament as well as gender balance and all party whips.
All Members not attending the sitting physically will be provided with a link through which they can follow the House proceedings and those who have logged in will be registered as attending the sitting of the House and will be entitled to sitting allowance.
He added that all committee meetings will also be held virtually.
