Prime Minister Moeketsi Majoro has appointed a new board of commissioners of the National Aids Commission, who were inaugurated on Thursday.
Acting in accordance with section 5(2) and (3) of the National AIDS Commission Act of 2005, the Prime minister appointed Reverend Ntokwenza Xana as the Chairperson, along with four members, namely Mamello Grace Boomo Molapo, Reitumetse Mothibe, ‘Mamichael Mapesela and Tselane Regina Lerafa.
The National AIDS Commission is a statutory body established in terms of Act No.8 of 2005 of Parliament of the Government of Lesotho to be responsible for the development and coordination of strategies and programmes for controlling and combating HIV and AIDS in Lesotho; for facilitating implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programmes; and for provision of policy guidance to implementing structures.
