The Lesotho Institute of Accountants (LIA) donated essential groceries worth M10 000 to St. Angela Home for Disabled Children in Maseru yesterday.

St. Angela is a home for children living with bone disabilities and enables them to be close to the schools that they attend. They offer rehabilitation services and facilitates mainstream education and vocational training to disabled children aged between five and 18 years old.

LIA chief executive officer, Monyaole Mosoloane, said they received a request for help from St Angela, and responded.

Mosoloane said they chose to answer the call during the festive season as it the most important time in the lives of many people, and is also the right time to give.

“Please receive this gift from us; it may not be much but we believe it will help a lot.”

On behalf of the institution, St Angela’s administrator ‘Makhosi Thamae thanked LIA and said the donations came at the right time when schools have just reopened and children will be able to go to school on a full stomach.

She said LIA’s gesture will change the lives of the children as they will now have something to eat just like other children.

‘Mamofoke Tieho, a student at Abia High School who stays at the Home, also expressed gratitude to LIA, adding they will no longer have to worry about going to school hungry.
