After having a child and struggling to find a reliable babysitter that she could trust her baby’s life with while she furthered her studies, ‘Mamosa Tsepa awoke to the reality that she was not the only mother experiencing nanny problems.

So, she came up with a solution for other mothers in a similar predicament by founding a company called T&M Nanny Consultancy where she recruits people who are looking for jobs nannies and trains them on child care.

Tsepa says being a woman has motivated her to put all her energy in the company because she knows how much working mothers would give to have a nanny that they can trust with their children while they are at work.

She said being a nanny is more than just looking after a child, but it entails loving and being a substitute mother to a child.

“For a small business, and a rare one at that, we have been getting support from many Basotho who call and ask for our services, and it has been really amazing. We work hard to train people so that they can get skills that will get them permanent jobs.

“We know that this is a crucial business because everyday children are born and their mother either have to go back to work or school. They need help; it is more than just a business but a helping hand,” she said.

She also revealed how she was inspired by her own two children to start the business; when she when she left them, she wanted them to have a nanny that feel the void she had left.

She said the fact that there is always stories of how horrible nannies treat children, such a recruitment company comes in handy as it makes it a lot easy to trace any nanny; this offers comfort to many women.

“We hope our track record will inspire both the women looking for jobs and those who need help with their children,” Tsepa said.

She concluded by indicating that they would soon want to see the company opening offices in all districts since it is not only people in Maseru who need help. She also revealed plans to go international.
