Security personnel acted swiftly to defuse a potentially explosive scenario as aggrieved students went on the rampage around midday on Thursday, burning part of the university’s property at Maseru Mall.
The brief altercation was a culmination of the students’ disputes with management over the enforcement of remote learning, which they argue is not workable because they do not have money to purchase internet data bundles.
Students who spoke to theReporter said this was their only way of making the university heed their frustrations.
Botho University management was not immediately available to comment.
