Pick n Pay robbers finally nabbed

Four of the six men arrested in connection with the armed robbery that occurred at the newly opened Pick n pay Supermarket at Masianokeng appeared before the Maseru Magistrates court this week.

According to police, the six were arrested on Thursday last week, these men were liable for the robbery that took place on August 18, 2020.

Those who appear before the magistrates court are Lehlohonolo Nefane (33) of Tṧakholo Ha Maime, Sekese Masilo (29) of Matsieng Ha Sekhobe,  Mosito Santo (37) of Mokema Ha Lebakae, and Pule Chaka (35) of Kolo Ha Mphaololi.

They are charged with contravening Section 64 and 109 of the Penal Code Act of 2011; Section 3(i) and 2(a) and (b) read with Section 43 of the Internal Security Act 17 of 1966.

The suspects allegedly broke in to the supermarket, pointing guns at the staff. They took off with M6000 and two phones. These phones were retained from them. The police went on to find three firearms – two 9mm pistols with 22 rounds of ammunition, and one 7.65mm pistol and five bullets. These men were also suspected to have destroyed two vehicles in the area.
