Focus TV is being hailed as an innovation that will give young people a platform to express themselves by telling their stories, especially those that reflect the youth’s hustle.

The driving force behind Focus TV is a team of seven youths based in Mafeteng who are determined to show people that no matter their dreams can come true no matter where they come from.

Photographer Relebohile Senone, who is the brains behind the concept, says the goal of the project is to inspire and encourage executive, leaders and game changers because ‘in a world full of game changers, the only way to set yourself apart is to be a game changer’.

It is on the basis of this that the 23-year old lad from Thabaneng in the Mafeteng decided to step up a notch by adding an online TV station to his burgeoning portfolio of ventures.

‘Shana’, as he is also known, told theReporter that the idea to set up Focus TV came about a long time ago.

“I was thinking and it came to my realisation that the youth are hustling but their hustle is not recognized.

“Another person who contributed to make the success of the TV station is Hunter Motsumi Matlanyane, who I consider my mentor because he has opened my eyes to a lot of things, in particular those that I have always wanted to pursue.”

Shana related how he made a studio in his home garage and called invited his friends who ensured more following on social media where they did a try-out; unfortunately, the reaction they got from Facebook was not awe-inspiring.

“That’s when I realized I needed a bigger house for the studio. The real work started only three weeks ago when Mafeteng based up- and-coming DJ Teddy DJ shared a story of him producing his own songs and Djing. The second appearance by actress Ayesha Khuele prooved to be just what the doctor ordered as it amassed up to 2864 likes in a single day; that’s quite an achievement considering that it is a brand new TV show.”

Focus TV studio was also sponsored with couches by Hatasi Transport.
