The Lesotho Electricity Company (LEC) says one of its employees based at the LEC headquarters is in self-isolation after testing positive for Covid-19.

In an internal memo issued on Monday, LEC said due to the preventative measures the employee had taken including absence from work prior to the positive diagnosis, early testing and the asymptomatic nature of the case, the power utility is assured that the risk of transmission to other employees is minimal and, as such, operations of LEC at headquarters will continue without any significant change or cessation.

The company has urged its employees to be “vigilant and continue following best practices to combat the spread of the virus, but further to seek medical assistance in the event that they are experiencing any of the common symptoms of Covid-19.”
