Information systems professional, Lerato Mphaka, has developed career navigation master classes aimed at helping young professionals explore different career paths and have fulfilling careers.
Thirty-two-year old Mphaka has a passion for technology because of its ability to connect people and foment human effort. She holds qualifications in Information systems, client-centric business strategy project management, and business systems analysis using design thing methodology.
Mphaka is excited to introduce a new master class programme that seeks to bring an understanding of concepts that play a crucial role in personal career success in an organization.
Mphaka told theReporter that this two-pronged approach is what she believes will help young professionals excel in their careers, who have not had any training or experience on how to thrive on the workspace.
“This programme is going to empower these young professionals to become the best version of themselves and equip them with skills to create a positive impact on their careers
The programme will touch on five crucial aspects of personal success in an organization; these include self-leadership, organizational culture and politics, organizational change, organizational innovation and organisational leadership.
The first cohort consists of 10 mentees, both male and female, between the ages of 23 to 30. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the sessions will be hosted virtually. The programme will run from August-December 2020. Applications to participate, will be open from July 13 and will run open until July 28.
Mphaka is looking forward to having an empowered youth who thrive in their careers and this programme promises that as it is going to equip them with skills and knowledge they need to navigate their careers.
“The programme is designed in such a way that it touches on every type of employment status, although the first cohort is for employed individuals, in later stages we are going to have classes for the self-employed and unemployed.
Mphaka continued to state that this programme is open to every Mosotho out there who wants to develop and master their careers.
“One of my life aspirations is for us Basotho to come together and for an unbreakable structure that will change the dynamics of our markets and as such, transform our country’s economy.
“I have therefore teamed up with some young creatives in the country, both entrepreneurs and freelancers. We are all very excited to shake things up and change other young Basotho.”
