Lesotho Revenue Authority (LRA) commissioner general, Thabo Khasipe is the new National Emergency Command Centre (NECC) chief executive officer.
This was announced by prime minister Moeketsi Majoro on Monday evening.
In his address, the prime minister said the Khasipe will be on a two-year secondmend to NECC after which he will come back and execute his duties at LRA.
He explained that Khasipe will be leading a team of government officers from different ministries to be selected based on their skills and expertise.
He also indicated that an NECC ministerial sub-committee to be led by him as the prime minister will be inaugurated officially, adding that government remains committed in tackling the spread of COVID-19.
Majoro also confirmed that factory workers qualifying to get M800 each during this era of COVID-19 will still be getting this money intended to cater for their basic needs such as food.
